pjssully
Hi, My daughter, who has been riding horses for almost 5 years now, would like to do a elective course on equine health and diseases/ and such. She knows all the basic of horsemanship and how to care for a horse since we have owned horses in the past. She is really interested in learning about the diseases of horses and how to help. Does anyone have ANY ideas of where I might start looking for some resouces for this type of course? I realize I probably won't find a real class or online class, though that would be ideal. So any resources would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks pj
Chrysalis Academy
Coursera has several good Equine Science classes, one starting in January or February, I think, and a couple of others which should recur sometime this year.
kiana
Right now there's a 3rd edition of Parker's Equine Science and an instructor's manual on amazon.com -- you could get both for about $50. The 4th edition is new so bloody expensive but I can't imagine much has changed.
Rosie Q
4-H has a curriculum called "Horse Science," which includes diseases of the horse: http://www.4-hmall.org/Product/4-hcurriculum-horse/4-h-horse-program-horse-science/CO-201.aspx
