Night Elf
I have a 3 lb. turkey breast. I found a recipe online that says to roast at 350 for 1 hour, baste, then cook until juices run clear and test for doneness with a meat thermometer. I don't have a meat thermometer. Any idea how long this meat will take to cook? How do I check for juices running clear?
kewb
I usually figure about 20 minutes per pound. So a three lb turkey breast should take an hour. Maybe a little longer if you have other stuff in the pan with it.
Happy
I smoked one about that size last year...it took about an hour and a half at 250 degrees (or thereabouts) in the smoker. Maybe a bit longer...I cook until the temps get close to right then let the meat rest to finish off. Meat thermometers are not expensive at Wally world. Get one. You'll be glad you did.
