How long does it usually take to get through MUS Pre Alg

We started MUS Pre Alg last week and I am wondering how long it generally takes to finish this. If you used this please let me know how long it lasted.

It took my ds11 a complete school year to finish. I was more than willing to slow down when he needed to and speed up or skip if he needed that. Gage the speed by your child's mastery of the topics.

It takes us about a year (school-year) to do each book. My 11yo is going at the 1 lesson a week rate right now, but if she hits a snag we can slow down a bit. I generally don't use the unit tests, unless we have extra time at the end of the year. I bought the Honors workbook this year and it really makes us think! We're doing it together on the weekends.

 

Monday: DVD & A

Tuesday: B

Wednesday: D

Thursday: E

Friday: Test

Saturday: Honors book w/ me

 

A nice thing about MUS is you can speed it up, say DVD & A on Monday, B & D on Tuesday, E & Test on Wednesday, then repeat with the next lesson Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

My DS took less than 2 months, and only because I was slowing him down. He also did another math program at the same time.

 

So as you can see, your mileage may vary, by quite a lot!

We generally do 1 lesson per week, so it took us 30 weeks (not counting vacation, holidays) to finish it. We supplemented with Singapore's CWP 6 as well.
