Mommy22alyns
Has anyone had their child able to "skip" a level in Saxon? When Rebecca was near the end of CLE 400, I gave her a Saxon placement test and she tested comfortably into 7/6. So I'm wondering if she'll place out of 8/7 after CLE 600. I'm wanting to buy early, which is why I'm asking now.
boscopup
My friend's daughter did through 507 and a couple lessons into 508, then took the Saxon placement test. She tested solidly into 8/7, though she did 7/6 anyway due to the child's confidence level with math and it being a new curriculum/format. I have no idea if you'd test out of 8/7 after 600. After 8/7 is Algebra, unless you do Algebra 1/2, which is technically Prealgebra like 8/7. I'd be hesitant to go straight from 600 to Algebra unless it's a really strong math student. Mommy22alyns
I gave her the placement test and she was 3 questions away from placing into 8/7 now, in CLE 603. Algebra 1/2 was next on the placement test, but I do keep hearing that it and 8/7 are practically the same. I don't think she could go straight into algebra 1.
