Jane in NC
If not, you can listen here. My son was astounded by the young lady who chose to go Yale (with parents taking out a home equity loan to pay) and turned down the full ride with stipend at UVA! Interesting discussion for those who think about the dollars involved in a college education (and who doesn't??) Jane
Michelle in MO
of the discussion, and it was very interesting. I really liked what one speaker said, in response to a woman's question about balancing a child's desire for an Ivy League education with another school. It was something to the effect of, "What is the total experience that the child needs or is looking for? Is that only available at the Ivy League school?" In this day and age, although getting a great education at the best possible school is a worthy goal, it would seem parents and students alike have to balance that with the overall picture: cost, financial aid, plus the numerous on-campus factors that can either give your dc a great college experience or make it a miserable experience. Very worthwhile discussion; thanks for posting this.

Laurie4b
This is one reason why our children are paying for their own college educations.
