butterfly113
I realize this text is a physical geography course. I had planned on incorporating cultural geography with it as we also have the KF World Geography Encyclopedia. What else would I need to add, anything? JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
It is a pretty full course on its own. I always lean toward adding some political geography. Good to know states, countries and capitals. One caveat-I'd be careful about not including Earth Science on a transcript with this course. The two are very close in content. Julie of KY
I think Runkle makes a fine 1 semester geography course. You can always add to it if desired. I have no hesitations about not doing earth science with it depending on the child.

So would you call it Geography and give it "Social Studies" credit...? Or are you saying you would only list it as Earth Science?
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
So would you call it Geography and give it "Social Studies" credit...? Or are you saying you would only list it as Earth Science? I'm really not sure which I would do. I think I would have to look at an overall high school plan to see which it worked best as. If listing as science I think I would call it Physical Geography. My point was just that I wouldn't try to have both physical geography and earth science on a transcript as together as it might look repetitive or as if I were double dipping so to speak. I don't think they are two distinct science credits nor do they show advancement in a particular topic ie. having both chemistry and AP Chem on a transcript. I suppose there are situations where it could work but this is just my opinion on the matter.
