timetoteach
Any reviews? Alternatives for music? I was considering this curriculum for my kids. It looked like a fun curriculum (if you google samples plus the name you'll get a generous preview of lessons). There are only 14 lessons, but the pdf of all 6 levels is on sale, so it might make more sense to buy the set. My older DD already does piano, so I'm not sure if she'll benefit from this. We need some more "fun" in our day though!

lorisuewho
I used the K and 1 levels with all my children last year. It was very do-able and made me feel better about them having some sort of music lesson, since we don't do instrumental lessons. The lessons took about 15-20 minutes and we did it once a week. The children enjoyed it.
give_me_a_latte
They are VERY quick lessons. We have the K and 1 levels, and really.....they don't get done here. They're just so simple and short and I don't see where anything is being accomplished. It's pretty much...play a track, tap along or sing along or dance along.....do a craft and sway to the music. Done. Maybe the higher levels get into some more actual teaching, but this just seemed to me to be something you'd see in a preschool classroom. We'll be using something else in the future. BUT, with that said, your youngest may like it in a year or so. My four year old loves it. Sometimes I pull it out to have "school" with her.
