Amira
What do you do to get yourself out of a funk when you're worn out from moving? All the usual stuff I do (I've moved 20 times in the last 16 years, including three in the last year, so I've had lots of practice) isn't working so well right now. Maybe some new ideas would help. I have supportive friends here and around the world. I have things I can work on, if I felt like getting anything done. My kids are settling in. I love Mexico, although I can't get out exploring as often as I'd like. I've only been here four months, and I know that's not long, but I just feel like I'm not getting back to normal like I have in the past. Any ideas? Seasider
I paint something. Walls, furniture, canvases - anything that stands still long enough, my kids joke. Something to awake the creative process. Also, massive decluttering seems to help me feel better. Those are introverted sorts of reactions. I find it also helps to try to get involved in something in my new community. A class, service project, Bible study - each of these things have helped me feel more integrated in the new place and over the moving funk. Hugs, I know that feeling and I hate it. It's hard to jump in and do something that will make you feel better because you're exhausted from the move. Hope you're feeling settled before too long.
