Trying to decide if I want to start it now with about 6 months left or if I should just start next year and have the whole year to do it? There's no rule that says you have to complete it all within the same "school" year or grade. I'd say start it now and let it take however long it takes. FWIW, when my DS did SWI-B, he finished it a few weeks ahead of schedule, simply because the schedule allowed more time for certain assignments than he needed.
