Mommamia
For our homeschool writing class, my son needs to choose a realistic adventure book. The teacher said that Hardy Boys is not adventure ( and that's what he was planning on reading). Help! Any suggestions? Much thanks!

....
Our middle school fiction reading list this year is adventure-themed. Let me get some titles...(I don't know about realistic - middle school fiction never seems realistic to me - Lol) Gentle Ben The Incredible Journey The Winged Watchman Hoot Holes Bridge to Terabithia Call It Courage Li Lun, Lad of Courage The Big Wave A Boy's War Where the Red Fern Grows I also have on here The Call of the Wild and White Fang (but not sure if that's appropriate for most 5th graders). houseofkids&pets
My ds also has to read an adventure book for our co-op. He tends to enjoy books that are about Star Wars or monsters, but those are not realistic fiction (no matter how much he insists that they are :001_smile: ). He just read the first chapter of Hatchet yesterday and he actually liked it. So far, so good.
Mommamia
Houseofkids&pets.... I tried to message you, but couldn't get it to send. From a post you wrote about the writing your co-op uses , and from your reply above, I'm thinking we might be in the same co-op! Maybe not, but if so, small world. : )
