ErinE
http://www.aeonmagazine.com/being-human/children-today-are-suffering-a-severe-deficit-of-play/ I read this article today and it really resonated. There were many excellent points, but I felt the description of cooperative play particularly interesting. If a child is playing in a classroom or organized activity, rules are imposed and there's no need for negotiation between the children. The adult becomes the mediator and children don't need to "walk in each other's shoes." I'm curious if anyone else has thoughts to add..
