mlktwins
Newbie swim team mom here :-). The boys have swim practice tonight and one of them has a cold. A little cough, clear runny nose, no fever. Do I let him swim? We have time trials this Sat and we've only had 2 practices last week due to weather. He wants to swim tonight. I'm thinking wait a day or two. What say the hive? Swimtaxi234
Go with your gut feeling. My children like to go to swim practice when they have a "gunky" nose because they say the water helps to clear out their sinus cavity - GROSS!
MFA323
The other moms and kids will appreciate it if you keep the sick child out. Nobody wants to swim in someone other person's snot. The child will probably recover more quickly with rest and light activity rather than swim practice.
