Kathleen in VA
I'm cleaning out my garage and found a box full of old duplicate checks from 1998-2002. Do I need to keep any of these? What's the cutoff date for keeping this sort of thing?
Jean in Newcastle
I think that you can safely shred them. I keep financial records for 7 years but by that I mean bank statements (which should have the information on it about those duplicate checks). Janet in Toronto
If the checks have cleared your account, I see no reason to keep them.
KatieJ
I can throw out stuff from the year we were married..as in 1975. Hmm..have to think about that. Just kidding. I have just one bank box with check book registers in them..and only because it's fun to look back and see what our income was and what we spent money on before kids and before Mortgage payments!
