Embassy
What news source would you recommend for pre-teens? I'm looking for an internet recommendation since we don't get any TV stations. I'd prefer something non-biased, but I know that doesn't exist. What do you use? What is out there?
HappyGrace
CNN Student News-hands down! We love it. They do the news but leave out anything really gory, and also explain a bit of the back story (like if they're talking about something going on in the Gaza Strip, they'll say a couple sentences about the Israeli-Palestinian issue, etc.) We're conservative but we feel it's (mostly) pretty unbiased. We just use anything we don't agree with as a talking point for what we do believe. It's short-usually about 9 minutes, and only broadcasts during the school year. TarynB
We like http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/. Free, daily ~10 minute videos during the traditional school year on weekdays. You can watch online or subscribe to the podcast. You can also subscribe to free emailed teacher notes if you want.
