Thank you! I will look at that thread.

 

I've searched "ancient India juvenile" for our library system, but over half of the hits reference books/videos on Native Americans. I've searched "India juvenile" as well, but most of those look to be about modern India. I guess really all I need is one or two books per chapter. Our library does have a couple books of Indian stories/tales for children.

I see the subjects of some promising material at my library under LOC subject headings such as

 

India -- Civilization -- To 1200.

India -- Antiquities.

India -- Civilization. ** This includes SOTW

 

Also

Art, Indic.

Architecture -- India.

Folklore -- India.

I've been shifting through what books are available for juvenile ancient history, and I've noticed that the list for India is pretty short. I think this may be because the Aryan migration/invasion is highly controversial among Indians, so many history writers pick safer topics for kids books.
