Mom in High Heels
We've had a big weekend. Last night was Indy's Arrow of Light ceremony. He was so excited. The dinner and the ceremony were outside and it was 37 degrees and so windy we could barely stand up. The older Scout who was dressed up as the chief had on a full feathered head dress and we were all afraid the wind was going to cause it to go into the fire pit and catch him on fire. They tried to shoot a flaming arrow, like the one in the AoL legend, but it was so windy the second the arrow left, the wind blew it out. We were frozen by the time it was over, but it was so much fun. Today was the Pinewood Derby. All the Web II parents were exhausted since we had to do clean up after the AoL ceremony and the PWD started early this morning. Of course the Web II's were the last to race. Indy came in 3rd place. We were both thrilled because James Bond usually helps out with the car, but this year I had to help, and we rocked it. Of course we were still working on it 2 hours before the official registration, but it got finished! Our next big Scout event is his crossover to Boy Scouts next month. They do the crossover at the American Cemetery in Luxembourg. They spend the morning cleaning off the graves, and hold the ceremony in the evening. Indy wants to clean Patton's grave, because he was born in the same hospital where Patton died.
Granny_Weatherwax
Congratulations to Indy on his AOL and crossover. AOL is a great accomplishment. Good job on PWD! I cant' wait to hear stories of his Boy Scout years.
