hmsch4me
Is anyone using these for hs science? I'm trying to get a grasp on what the DVD's contain and the online activities.
AngieW in Texas
I have Biology by Miller and Levine. I don't like it. The experiments in the Science Explorer series that publish for middle school were excellent and mostly doable at home. There are far too many craft "experiments" in the biology books and many of the rest are not very doable at home. I got a copy of Holt Biology and it looks much better as well as easier to understand. My 9th grader has decided that she wants to finish the book we're already using though. We'd have to backtrack a bit if we switched now and she just wants to get done. I likely won't be using Prentice Hall with my next dd and I definitely won't be buying any of the other Prentice Hall high school sciences. It was a huge disappointment after the Science Explorer series.
Lux Et Veritas Academy
I use it and love it- I just combine united streaming- PH doesn't allow homeschoolers to do certain things- I have been very happy with it
