cave canem
I am familiar with the Lampstand Learning Center but have heard no feedback about the writing classes in particular. Can anyone chime in? Lee in New England
Katie Jean
I haven't either but if you get any input I'm interested to know about it!
1bassoon
We have! My ds16 (a junior) has been enrolled in Rhetoric Writing for Year 1 this year - taught by Schumacher/Whitney. I can't say enough good things about this class. They have both pushed him to clarify his writing, improved his research skills, and taught him the value of deadlines. (A painful lesson, but necessary!) He's practiced time essay test skills and college essay techniques. I feel the courses are WELL worth the value. He took Rhetoric Lit last year, and loved that as well. Not sure what direction we're heading next year, but it's not due to the quality of the classes, but rather we may be adding Speech/Debate in for his senior year. Hope this helps!
