Grade 3 language arts

Hello,

 

I think there is someone (Crimson Wife?) who uses a mix of Kilgallon, MCT, and SWB's materials for language arts.

 

Could someone explain to me how they have used these together successfully?

Emily, you might want to pm CrimsonWife. She'd be more likely to respond. :)

 

I haven't used MCT but have used Killgallon in conjunction with other writing and grammar programs. I don't attempt to match them up in any way. We've just always used Killgallon as one of our Language Arts supplements. It shouldn't take a full year to work through one book...we've just always cracked open a book and continued working on it until it's completed. I've used them several different ways depending on the student and level. We've done them orally, on the whiteboard, and as a more independent workbook.

Crimson Wife recently shared her plan on this thread in the Accelerated forum. I plan to copy her ideas. :-)

 

And then there was a long, interesting thread in the Logic forum about Killgallon / MCT recently.

 

My take is that WWE is run concurrently with either MCT or Killgallon, and that the latter two are strategically alternated.
