Rebel Yell
Wouldn;t you know it- after years and years of a nice Latin program sitting on my "bookshelf of good intentions" for YEARS, I finally solfd it last year- for pennies, too. :glare: Now what does BabyBaby want to do for foeign language? Latin. And Morse Code. (She changed he mind from Japanese.) She's already learning American Sign Language. Soooooo I am the type to get easily overwhelmed by too many choices. Can anyone recommend a good choice for beginning Latin with a 7th grader? Here are my requirements: *Reasonably priced. I can't afford a $200+/year program, no matter how fabulous it is. *Easy to use- for both Mom & student. If it has 17 different books/answer keys/tests/test keys/copybooks/teacher's guides/lesson pages/workbook/partridge-n-pear tree I'll lose my mind. (Think Abeka- nice books, too many components.) *Set up for mostly independent work by the student- does not need Mom to sit with her for 90 minutes each day. 15 max, LOL! *Audio CD or video DVD/online would be nice, but can do without IF it;s cheaper and easy to use. *does not need to be heavy on writing. Clear "do this, copy this" exercises- rather than open-ended "Write a paragraph in Latin about your favorite historical figure." KWIM? *Doesn't matter if it;s consumable or not- this is for my last child- resale is nice, but it won't be reused in my family. Thanks for the help! Oh- if it matters- BabyBaby is my "mathy" child- not as strong in writing.
