jhschool
Has anyone done the High School Physics Bowl? I signed up, but they haven't contacted me. I registered but they haven't replied to my emails. (It was $20 for a 5-packet of tests and another $4 for a WebAssign account that enables us to practice online.) Could anyone share their experiences as a homeschooler? They say on their website that the parent cannot administer the exam. What have people done in the past? Do you just go to the library to do the exam? Do you find it distracting? Or do you hire a proctor to come to your house? I see that the top winner last year was a homeschooler, so it is possible to do this--I just would like some real feedback! Thanks!
jhschool
Hi So, apparently we are signed up correctly. I did hear back by email from an actual person. So, we now wait until we get our exams; I am going to find a proctor (they don't let the homeschooling parent do it) and we'll see how it goes. I'll keep you guys informed. And if anyone else wants to do it, I'm pretty sure there is still time. The problems look interesting. Here is the link. It would be nice if more homeschoolers took it. http://www.aapt.org/Programs/contests/physicsbowl.cfm
