JenC3
Trying to nail stuff down and get my budget in order. Tell me what you are doing and have done and what worked well, etc. TIA! This is what I'm contemplating: Human Odyssesy Volume 1 with Great Courses lectures: Daily Life in the Ancient World Geography: Ellen McHenry or MP's Geography I Science: Holt's Life Science, Usborne's The Complete Book of Microscope and lots of dissections and experiements. Or sub Holt for Story of Science Aristotle?
Chrysalis Academy
I think these are all fantastic choices, but if I were starting the Ancients in history, I might lean toward doing Story of Science/Aristotle, because they tie together so very nicely. We just started SOS and love it, though we're in a different "time" in the history sequence. If you do use SOS, I would definitely get the Quest guide - it deepens the study so much. Lots of interesting discussions, activities, experiments that are very cross-disciplinary. It will enrich your history study to no end, as well as being a great introduction to the what and how of science, and physical science.
