Anyone Use "Great American Short Stories" for High School Lit?

Recommended Posts

I just discovered this series at the library today, and they have an essay series, mystery series, etc. A new volume is published each year, and I was hooked even as I read the editor's introductions, the writing was that good. I wondered if anyone has used these books to create a literature course out of for high school.

Thanks,

Cindy

Cindy, my memory isn't that great so this might not be the book series. I think I flipped through one of these back when we had a Borders. One of the stories would not have been appropriate for my daughters. Of course, don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Hi Cindy,

Try this one. Lots of classic short stories.

The Walch guide is decent if you think you might want some guidance.
