I am working on a preliminary transcript for ds16, a junior, who is leaving tomorrow for a college visit. His freshman year, we cobbled together a literature course from two different clubs.

In one club, they read 8 works of Shakespeare where they met monthly and discussed the following works:

Twelfth Night

Romeo and Juliet

The Tempest

Macbeth

The Taming of the Shrew

Hamlet

They had to do a final project. Ds did a comic strip on the final confrontation between Hamlet and Laertes - it was modern interpretation with Hamlet as an Emo dude and Laertes as a punk. We all thought it was quite creative and showed a unique understanding of the characters.

In the other club, met monthly to discuss the following books:

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

Utopia by Sir Thomas More

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

The Art of War by Sun Tzu

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss

They also did a few papers as well.

So, what would you call this on a transcript? I have not titled things English 1, 2, 3 or anything (nor did I on my older son's transcript who was 4 for 4 on college acceptances.) The other classes I have on his transcript are Novels, Novellas and Plays and Short Stories and Film.
