Slipper
The Senior Center in our town is hosting a chili fund-raiser. They want to sell chili by the quart. What is the easiest way to sell it? They are trying to figure out containers. Some people will be eating at the senior center and others will be taking it to go. I'm guessing she will use bowls for those eating at the senior center. But what would be easy (and economical) for those taking it to go in a quart sized portion?
Mrs Mungo
Do you have a restaurant supply store locally? Best to check with them.
wendy not in HI
Quart Jars? I'm sure you could find some around for free!
Mrs Mungo
Quart Jars? I'm sure you could find some around for free! I wouldn't distribute recycled jars with food in them to the public, jmo. :)
RoughCollie
Costco has 1 quart, food grade, reusable, black containers with lids. I use them to freeze food in, including quarts of chili. They are in the area with the foil and baggies. I can't remember what they cost, but they come in bundles of 25 or 50 (can't recall that either). wendy not in HI
Good point. Skip the jars unless you can sterilize them...
Slipper
Thanks. I'm suggesting to them that they go to a restaurant supply and purchase the to-go containers. :)
