Punks in Ontario
It's that time of year when I start second guessing my choices. My oldest will likely be doing some BJU next year and I'm thinking about putting the youngers in too. They've been using CLE reading and Language Arts. I'd be using all the subjects except possibly Heritage Studies since we're not American. I know that BJU is definitely more expensive. How do they compare in thoroughness? Ease of use? quality of instruction? Do your kids like BJU as well? better? I would be using DVD for the high school and just the books for the elementary kids. Down_the_Rabbit_Hole
BJU is very teacher intensive for the elementary years if used correctly, but it is a very complete program. Solid with no gaps.
PeterPan
With BJU you can't just use the texts. Well you *can*, but the meat and the crux of the course is in the tm. So your biggest jolt is going to be going from something you can hand your boys (CLE) to something where every single subject is meant to be taught. I like the BJU stuff, but I suggest you make that change one subject at a time. Don't mess anything up that's already working.
