Why I'm glad I'm homeschooling (video)

Here's my 4 year old doing the reading practice page of lesson 29 in PAL Reading. He's the poster child for a wiggly boy, yes? Despite being nowhere near mature enough to do well in a classroom, he is picking up reading very easily. Homeschooling is a good fit for this boy right now.

I'm sort of desensitized to it ... his older brother is dx with ADHD and this one is looking like a likely candidate as well (though he's not always so punchy). I have adjusted my expectations based on what I think he can handle (which is obviously different than what some other children are capable of handling) - expecting this boy to sit in a chair would be crazymaking for both of us.

PAL is great because it's mostly games, and we use games to work on math skills too. He loves to read to me and most of the time will want to read 3-5 little books at a time. I love that we can move forward on basic skills without waiting for him to "mature" with his attention span (which honestly may never happen LOL).

I showed the video to my husband. He looked sheepish and said he thinks he was exactly the same way. He turned out pretty well.
