tjneary99
Hello, For those of you who know about LOF, can you tell me which books would make a good supplement to Singapore 4B-level 5? I was thinking of the last 4 in the elementary level but if there is a better insight out there--please fill me in. Many thanks, Jen

boscopup
We started Fractions during 4B and have continued it through 5A. I'm using the elementary series with my younger son, but he's just on Butterflies, so I haven't seen the last 4 in that series. :) My older son is reading them too, for fun. :D
Dmmetler
We started Fractions about then. I do think it encouraged my DD to decide she was "done" with SM and wanted to start Algebra :). We did Fractions and Decimals and Percents with SM 4b-5B, and then started LoF Pre-algebra/Key to Algebra.

TKDmom
I agree, you should be able to start with Fractions about the time you are doing SM 4B. Especially if you are only using it to supplement once a week or so. The difficulty ramps up after the first 10 or 15 chapters, so I wouldn't rush through it, even if it seems easy at first. DC should be comfortable with long division before starting.
tjneary99
Thank you so much for the replies--they have been a huge help. I think I will start with fraction then and go from there. My son is in 4th grade and working on other things, so I may try an earlier book for him. It looks like fun, and my daughter LOVES to read, read and read some more. It looks like something she will enjoy. Thanks!
