Kelly on the prairie Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I am thinking of getting my feet wet with Teaching Company lectures. I have wanted How to Be a Superstar Student for a long time but was unwilling to pay for it until now. Have any of you had it, liked it, hated it, burned it, loved it? I am also looking at Masterpieces of Short Fiction and am wondering if any of you have had any knowledge of this lecture. I have written down some names of lectures that were thought highly of that I found in a search here. Any reviews of either of these would be appreciated:001_smile: Quote

Moira in MA Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I am thinking of getting my feet wet with Teaching Company lectures. I have wanted How to Be a Superstar Student for a long time but was unwilling to pay for it until now. Have any of you had it, liked it, hated it, burned it, loved it? I've borrowed this from the library a couple of times. My eldest, who doesn't need the skills training, enjoyed it; my youngest, who does, hated it and refused to watch! I'll try her again this year as she's going into 9th and may be more receptive. I am also looking at Masterpieces of Short Fiction and am wondering if any of you have had any knowledge of this lecture. This is a brand new course; I'm not familiar with the lecturer, sorry can't help other than to add that I'm thinking about it, too. Quote
Kareni Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 We watched an earlier version of How to Be a Superstar Student and found it only so-so. (My daughter found all the references to "the Academy" curious.) I think the updated version has received better reviews. Regards, Kareni Quote
