jeninok
http://www.theguardiansofchildhoodbooks.com/north.php We have been reading Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King, for about a week and half, and will finish up this afternoon. I have read a few chapters out loud, but for the most part DS has read it himself and has really enjoyed it. Has anyone else read the other books in the series? Or have any ideas for similar books? It has a lovely feel to it, with cool chapter names, just enough pictures to help set the tone, and add to the Child's imagination, and it is just scary enough to be interesting to my DS. The story line is pretty simple, but the vocabulary and writing can be a bit challenging at times. I do think it needs to be for slightly older children since it deals with some scary subjects, and also the legends surrounding Santa Claus. jeninok
I forgot to add.........We can't do books where animals, especially cats and dogs, are hurt or very sad things happen to them.
