Hope in God
I was exploring the Chalkdust website and I noticed different programs for Algebra. I gathered that Pre-Algebra comes first then Algebra 1 followed by Algebra 2 but what is College Algebra?
kiana
About half of precalculus. Trigonometry is the other half. There's some overlap.
Jann in TX
You can consider College Algebra as Algebra 3-- it picks right up where Algebra 2 leaves off (some basic overlap but no real review). It is usually a one-semester course if taken in high school or college. It is the only math class the majority of college majors require (non math /science related). There is not really a 'standard' with it comes to College Algebra texts-- some are very challenging (can be more difficult than Calculus) and some are barely more than Algebra 2. When College Algebra is listed on a transcript it means the student is ready for Calculus (minus the Trig of course). Now 'Math for College Students' is a college math course that is a repeat of Algebra 1 and 2 with a bit of Statistics thrown in. It is considered for college credit in majors such as English and Music.

Hope in God
Thank-you for the information! Jaan, do you find that the chalkdust courses are comprehensive in the teaching given by the teacher. I have watched a couple of the videos on the website and to me (who is not a math genius) he seems to make it simple.
