I'm pulling together a world cultures study for my Ker this fall, and have most everything ready. What I am missing is a great list of read aloud fiction books. I'm looking at a 1-2 grade level. I plan on a very loose continent based study, so anything dealing with, say, Africa--any country, unique animal, unique culture etc. I'll probaby break up Asia a bit, but want to keep things general. Any suggestions?

This is what we plan on using this fall. It has suggestions on read alouds, activities, animals to look up, etc. A lot of good materials. It is very flexible on the amount of work required. Organized by continent.

No specific suggestions, but don't forget art books. The Swahili, for example, traditionally have fabulous wood carvings on their houses. Your kids might enjoy looking at the photography and replicating designs using playdough.

Just an idea
