cholderby
Last year we did Apologia astronomy. We finished it, but I'd like to try a new curriculum this year. DS is very enthusiastic about the subject. He works best with work text books with concrete lesson beginnings and endings. If I can find something to use with my K'ner too, that would be perfect. I enjoyed the religious aspect of Apologia but we are not literal 7 day creationists so it didn't exactly fit with our religious beliefs. If I can find a science curriculum that works for us in format whether or not it has a religious aspect is secondary.
cholderby
I just retread that, hope it makes sense. I'm holding a newborn and trying to type while being interrupted by a 2 yo. You've BTDT, right?
boscopup
BJU Science? It is a textbook, and while it is grade level labeled, the K'er could follow along. I used BJU Science 3 with my 2nd grader some last year, and my then 4-5 year old had no problem tagging along. BJU is young earth, but it isn't talked about as much as in Apologia. It is also a more general science.
Mommy_of_4
I am using BJU Science 1 with my 5yr old and he is doing great with it. He loves it. It is young earth but we just plan to skip what we don't agree with. I already ordered the 2nd grade for him to start when he is ready. Syllieann
I haven't had a chance to try it yet but Behold and See from CHC is textbook format with experiments spelled out in the book. It is Catholic, old earth creationist/theistic evolution. It is quite well liked on another board that is exclusively old earth.
