samba
I'm considering Live Mocha Spanish for dd12 this year (8th grade). I can't quite figure out how it works. Is there a schedule? Do we choose a time slot? How is work assigned? The website is not clear at all. We'll be moving on to a formal online class for 9th and I thought this might be a good headstart. There's a Groupon right now, $25 for 6 months or $49 for 12 months, so I'm trying to decide if this is worthwhile. Also, opinions are welcome. Thanks, Carolyn

Guest ployglot
http://livemocha.com/pages/methodology/ http://livemocha.com/pages/activity-types/ the groupon offer is probably for their self-paced learning. you can see how it works above. you can also just register for free on their site and explore. i think that groupon offer is for the whole site. all languages. including their premium lessons, so would be great for spanish as a head start. most of the active students on livemocha are college age. some are high school. some are older adults learning. connects you to lots of people all around the world. huge latin american following. you can also check out busuu.com which is similar.
