ShannonS
Finally finished reading Underground History of Education (online) and found it quite engaging. It really drew me in, but there were no (that I found) citations to any historical sources. It appeals to me on a very intuitive level, but seems a bit one-sided as well. I think I may just read it again and take detailed notes and follow up on my own. Anyone care to chime in on this? I had not even heard of this guy until I started researching homeschooling last winter.
Mrs Mungo
He really doesn't source his info very well. He's sort of considered the kooky uncle of homeschooling. ;)
dangermom
Yeah. I love reading him, but he's a nutball as well.
Kathleen in LV
If you are interested in reading something about the history of education along the same lines, but with citations (and tons of them), you might want to check this out (also free to read online): http://deliberatedumbingdown.com/ Warning: It is a very dense, long read.
