Snowstorm84
This last year, my son went through Horizons K Phonics and Reading. I was very impressed with the result. He is an excellent reader and can sound out very long words and can spell at a 2nd grade level already. The big flaw: soooo much writing! Everytime he had a lesson with 3 or 4 pages he would not want to do it because of the writing. So, my question is: is there another great phonics program similiar to Horizons but without all the writing?
threeofakind
Could you do some of it orally? He could tell you and you record or just tell you? I've only seen some samples- so is it the workbooks that has a lot of writing? Maybe someone will chime in who's had experience with it!:001_smile:
Mommy_of_4
Ds is doing Horizons phonics 1 right now. He does about 1/2 the writing and then I scribe the other half for him. It seems to be working so far!
Snowstorm84
That is a great idea, I think I will be doing that because it really is such a great program. Thanks!
