sheryl
What suggestions do you have for a rising 8th grader for S/V? We've always used Abeka spelling. Is there something better? Spelling Power was suggested, but WAY tooooo much intro prep work for teacher. Sequential spelling? But, isn't that more for spelling - deficits? Trish
We like CLE's Building Spelling Skills. We'll be using that for 6th and 8th this fall.
SilverMoon
Rod and Staff's Spelling by Sound and Structure 8. The 8 book is focused on root based vocabulary, with a side of phonetic based spelling. The student text can be used independently, the lessons are short and to the point, and the teacher's edition will make your side easy with sentences for the end of week quiz, teaching suggestions, and a replica of the student's page. Don't know why I didn't think of CLE. Rod and Staff's Spelling by Sound and Structure 8. The 8 book is focused on root based vocabulary, with a side of phonetic based spelling. Thanks, I'll re-visit R/S too!
