Barbara H
I always suggest the first date, as long as the student is prepared. Our son went into the SAT feeling great one Saturday morning and came out with a temperature of a 104. It was a total surprise because he rarely gets sick, but we were really glad we scheduled early so we had time for a retake.
creekland
I'd go early. I'd probably wait on sending in apps. If she doesn't have scores yet and the school has rolling deadlines, she won't likely get scholarships anyway, though she might get admitted - they might also wait to look at her app. But, in general, it works better when the admissions folks see everything at once. If the school has guaranteed merit scholarships for certain scores, then it won't matter and you could send in apps if you wanted. Most schools have deadlines that come after you'd have Sept scores, so you shouldn't be late by waiting.
