Melissa B
We are moving in two weeks and only have satellite (and dial-up) internet available to us at our new home. :glare: We've used satellite internet once before and it was a terrible experience. It was slow, very expensive and didn't work when there was so much as two clouds in the sky. It was several years ago though. Does anyone have a satellite internet provider they are happy with? We have a bunch to choose from here, all the well known providers.
happygrrl
We use Hughes, and dislike it due to the data cap. No streaming for us! Even more than a few Youtube videos kills our limit for the day :glare:. I can't even download from currclick, as Hughes considers that file-sharing. To do so you have to jump through mega hoops. Ugh! Can you tell I am not a fan? We are excited about the upcoming Verizon Home Fusion- internet via cell tower. It looks to be a much better option than satellite. It is already available in some cities; coming to our area late summer.
Guest
No. Apparently, these are mutually exclusive terms: "satellite internet" and "good." :glare: I have a Mi-Fi hotspot now. It makes me ever-so-slightly happier than Hughesnet did, but there is no such thing as streaming or doing any kind of substantial downloading. It chaps my hide. Melissa B
Those are exactly the things I remember. It sounds like we will be schooling about town more once we move. I'm sure the kids will vote for McDonalds since they all have free wifi. :tongue_smilie: I suppose I had better start looking into the locations of any local libraries. godsaggie
I was just talking to a friend that has Wild Blue and absolutely loves it. My husband is looking at them now to determine whether or not we will switch.
