4Kiddos
I was wondering if anyone uses these or has opinions about them. I have heard good things and seen the review on Valerie's Living Books but was wondering if anyone else has used them. For those of you wondering what I am talking about, you can find some of them free here: https://www.google.com/search?tbm=bks&hl=en&q=makers+of+history&btnG=#hl=en&tbm=bks&sclient=psy-ab&q=makers+of+history+abbott&oq=makers+of+history+abbott&gs_l=serp.3...4114.5406.0.5777.7.7.0.0.0.0.180.1061.0j7.7.0...0.0.y-Q3zDSA6nM&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=318fb83eff78855d&biw=1280&bih=609 They are a series of vintage biographies about important historical figures. There are 33 of them. Edited June 27, 2012 by Mommyof3boys

Amy M
I do know they're free on the Kindle or other e-readers, and I just started reading one on Alexander the Great that was great. :) IMO
LNC
THey are all free to download on Kindles or any ereader. But, I have a complete set I purchased from a box at an antique fair years ago. I love them! Jacob Abbott is the author of most of the Makers of History volumes, but his brother John wrote some later ones as well. The Abbott brothers also wrote some of my favorite vintage parenting books The Mother at Home by John Abbott http://digital.lib.msu.edu/projects/ssb/display.cfm?TitleID=556 and Jacob Abbott wrote Gentle Measures in the Training and Management of the Young http://manybooks.net/titles/abbottjac11661166711667.html More info and links for Makers of History set: http://www.heritage-history.com/www/heritage.php?Dir=home&FileName=series_makershistory.php
