kailuamom
Anyone ever used or heard of these books? Opinions? I am looking for a way to firm up my dd's expository writing skills and don't know if book 4 of this series stands alone or if they need to be done in series. Thanks! teacalm
I have the Paragraph book 1. It uses the formula - FNTF - first, next, then and finally. It emphasizes using a correct format - title should be centered and written correctly using capitalization rule, margin, first line should be indented. I didn't use it but looking at this, it would be a good text to use for 2nd or 3rd graders with modification and just to get them started. There's a rubric so the student can evaluate and edit their own writing. It's very structured and is recommended for ELL learners for their direct instruction, step-by-step practice, corrective feedback and vocabulary development (quoted this from the back of the student book). I bought this years ago based on a good review I saw on Rainbow Resource about this mom who used all 4 books with her son. The only drawback I can see is the price. You need both the teacher and the student book.
