Buying a used Kindle

Recommended Posts

No. If it was someone I knew, I might consider it, but otherwise, I wouldn't do it. I have seen the basic Kindle sell for as little as $49 brand new on sale at places like Walmart and BestBuy, and I know Best Buy has also offered "free gift card with purchase" deals on other Kindle models as well.

Amazon sells refurbished versions of their Kindles, too -- you have to keep checking and see what's available. I got my Kindle Fire for only $139.

Kindles aren't so incredibly expensive that it's worth taking a chance on buying a used one from a stranger. I'd rather look for a deal on a new or Amazon refurbished model, and have the security of a return policy and a warranty.
