Schedule for John Tiner's Exploring series?

Recommended Posts

We usually spent 2 days, occasionally 3 days, per chapter, and usually did 2 chapters per week, but with "flex" in the schedule to allow for things coming up. Also, we read them aloud and discussed as we read, which is a bit slower-going than if your plan is for the student to read these solo/independently. As a result, we usually did just 1 Tiner book per semester. We skipped the tests at the end of the chapters (the questions are strictly recall/comprehension, not questions requiring critical thinking or problem solving).

Below are the Tiner books we did, and with what I felt was the most appropriate age level (concept-wise, not reading level-wise) for the books. I would say that all of the books are written at about a 7th grade reader level. Enjoy! Warmest regards, Lori D.

Exploring Planet Earth (gr. 4-6)

History of Medicine (gr. 4-8)

World of Chemistry (gr. 5-8)

World of Physics (gr. 5-8)

World of Mathematics (gr. 6-9)
