hsmom27
What are your recommendations for an adult who took 3 years of Spanish in high school and wants to refresh it all and go farther? Thanks.
elegantlion
I took 4 years eons ago. I've just started a few things. Duolingo is a new free program, still in beta. I also own Breaking the Barrier workbook, which is high school level. I need to order the other materials to go with it. I'm also studying Latin, which we've been doing in school. I'm amazed at how much easier Latin is with some Spanish background. livemocha.com is another place I've dabbled with, but not recently. Leibniz
There's nothing quite like interacting with a native speaker. Even if you're kind of rusty they'll help you pick it up in a way no book can. This may not be perfect for learning the technical intricacies of grammar, but it will be quite helpful in ensuring you're actually using the language in a practical manner. http://www.mylanguageexchange.com/ is my favorite place to go for finding people. I've had success with finding Japanese practice partners there. I expect it would be just as easy to find people to practice Spanish with. Ibbygirl
Watch Spanish language tv with a dictionary by your side. The news especially would be good for vocabulary. I did this when I was trying to learn German and it helped me a lot. :) Buena suerte. :)
