kadesmom
I have no clue what we will choose for 2nd grade social studies/history this next year. Any suggestions as to curriculum that is reasonable prices and interesting for this age group.

boscopup
Story of the World for history. Do you have to do "social studies" per your state? Or is history alone ok?
Farrar
SOTW would be the obvious choice. What do you want though? World history? American history? Geography? A mix of stuff? Hands on? Secular or religious?
kadesmom
I would like American history with a religious background. Thinking about doing Road Trip USA but we need something to add to it. SOTW would be the obvious choice. What do you want though? World history? American history? Geography? A mix of stuff? Hands on? Secular or religious? hsmom2011
I have not purchased this yet, but plan to use Elemental History for grade 2. It looks like it gives a good overview of American History for early elementary students. MFW Adventures is also a great curriculum if you are looking to cover American History. I used this with my oldest dd when she was in 2nd grade.
Aurelia
There's A Living History of Our World. I think the first two volumes cover US history and come from a Christian perspective.
Jennifer L
Beautiful Feet We loved it! My kids made beautiful notebooks and learned a ton. We used it alongside Roadtrip USA also. I was also tempted by MFW Adventures but I think it would've been too much alongside Roadtrip USA and we we're already had science and bible picked out. I'm really glad we picked BF though! lindsrae
Check out Guesthollow! It is free and literature based--the author is a Christian, so she includes some things for discussion that might come up in a study of history.
