Dianne-TX
I have no background in Latin and want it to be semi-independent to independent. I know PL is DVD based and seems obvious to choose because of wanting it independent, but I've heard great things about GSWL, which is also cheaper. :) Can GSWL be independent, but effective without the DVD interaction or is PL really the way I should go? Alphabetika
My dd thought the same as Dot's son. PL doesn't have to be DVD-based. Any parent could teach it. And I must confess I haven't used GSWL, but I have used GSWSpanish and GSWL is the same format. I would go with GSWL if I had to do it again. As it happened, the dd who hated PL is now passionate about Greek. ;)
I talk to the trees
Based on your kids' ages, I don't think PL is going to be a good fit. Dd did it in first grade and really liked it, but then we zipped right on to Latina Christiana I. I don't really know anything about the other program, but the higher Memoria Press programs have worked well for us, and I have no background in Latin either.
