Space, Aviation, and Marine Science Camps!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Registration is now open for Carolina Homeschooler’s trip to Space Camp and Aviation Challenge in November 2012 in Huntsville, Alabama. Both are 4-day programs designed especially for our group, and are for children in 4th grade and above (and their parents, older siblings, aunts, uncles, etc.). Space Camp includes mission training and operations, rocket construction, and space history through hands-on activities, simulators, IMAX movies, realistic missions, and more. In the Aviation Challenge program, families will train together as jet fighter pilots on the simulators, learn survival skills, participate in realistic flying missions, learn about the science and history of flight, and more. Space is limited, so early registrants will have first choice of program (Space or Aviation). For more information about these camps, go to http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelspa.html

If your student is more interested in Marine Science, consider our 3-day Barrier Island Environmental Education Camp in September 2012. Located on Seabrook Island (near Charleston, SC), this camp offers K-12 students (and their parents!) hands-on lessons in biology, ecology, conservation, astronomy, botany and much more. Classes are taught on nearly one mile of beach, 100 acres of salt marsh, 200 acres of undisturbed maritime forest, freshwater ponds, and a freshwater swamp. Lodging, meals, and recreation is included in the tuition. Choice of cabin or lodge room will be reserved on a first-registered, first-served basis, so register early if you prefer a specific type of room. We went last year, but only did the Space Camp part. It was wonderful, The kids are still talking about it!

This year we added the Aviation Challenge so families coming back will have something new to experience. If you'd like to read my trip report, go to http://www.carolinahomeschooler.com/atravelpast.html If you want to see pictures, friend me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/carolinahomeschooler

It was getting to be too much work to have to format the photos to post on my website, so now I just upload them to Facebook. Not ideal, but at least it's quicker!

Warmly,

Dianna
