I mean, I've done it, :tongue_smilie:, but you really gotta try. :D Pretty much just put in whatever meat you want, whatever veggies you want, whatever seasonings you want, and then some sort of liquid. The other one that I like is roast, beef broth and mushrooms and purple onion. Add all of it to the crock pot and cook on low all day. walkermamaof4 Posted March 28, 2012 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Mom's Pot Roast Course: Main Course Cuisine: American Tags beef Source: Mom Flanigan (Grandma Abbie) Ingredients 4 lb boneless rump roast 3-5 lb bottom or eye of round is great salt pepper garlic salt flour 2 T oil 3 large onions 8 oz tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes 8 oz water 4 carrots or 5 (split) Sauce: 2 T brown sugar 1/4 c lemon juice 1/2 t dry mustard 1 t worcestershire sauce 1/4 c wine vinegar 1/4 c ketchup 1 bag egg noodles horse radish Salad potatoes Directions | Numbered... Can double sauce and make 2 at once. Eye of round roast was GREAT! Sprinkle a 4 lb. bottom round roast with flour, pepper and garlic salt. Brown in 1-2 T oil quickly at high heat in large pot, turning again and again. Turn on low.(Or put in crock pot now.) Add: 8 oz. can of tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes 8 oz. water 3 large chopped onions 4-5 split carrots potatoes, quartered or skip and make potato pancakes or egg noodles Cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours (or crock pot maybe 4 hours). Combine 2 T brown sugar, 1/4 c lemon juice, 1/2 t dry mustard, 1 t Worcestershire sauce, 1/4 c wine vinegar and 1/4 c catsup. Cook 1 – 1-1/2 hours more (4 more hrs on low in crock pot).
