Too much for math?

If any of you have experience with either/both...would it be too much to try to do Saxon math (6/5) and Teaching Textbook (grade 6) together?

Thanks!

Holy Mackeral Andy! I'd say yes.... why do you want to do both programs?

Both of those programs are time intensive, especially for a student who isn't a whiz at math. For one who is, it might be possible, but I'd venture a guess that your whiz kid would burn out pretty quickly with all the drill and repetition.

What's your dilemma about each?

Too much of the same thing. I'd do one or the other and then supplement with different things like Life of Fred, some fun workbook word problems, mini-math mysteries, fun geometry. You can get really interesting math workbooks from Critical Thinking but check Rainbow since they might be less there. We're suppl. with LOF and Sherlock Holmes Mini-Mysteries, Blastoff Pre-Alg. and Keys-to Series. We take one day a week to just do one of our 'non-text' maths.
