maizeydaizey
I've been making a point to stop in quiet a bit, read and attempt to join in... but WOW I am overwhelmed by all the acronyms :001_huh: I will read a thread and literally have no idea what was just discussed, every curricula is abbreviated - so confusing. And, here I thought I kind of had an idea of what existed out there ~ ha!!! So much to learn. How long did it take you to get this all down? chepyl
I think I know all of the currucula now, it took a few months of referencing the abreviations thread on the general board. I still have no clue on some of the netspeak/texting acronyms though - ymmv, and stuff like that. You might just print the abbreviation thread and keep it by the computer until you get it down. ~Tara~
Yeah, sometimes it gets crazy. I still get lost and I've been doing this 'forever'. We *try* to remember to mention the name in full before abbreviating the rest of the post...but..we forget. Sorry.
Mergath
I've been here for awhile, and I just now have a pretty good idea what most of them are. Whenever I come across an acronym I don't recognize, I just google it.
JennHilger
I agree. There are so many. I like the google idea :001_smile:
Dana
Here's a list I use when I'm stumped. http://www.whythereyouare.com/homeschool/homeschool_abbreviations.htm#hsabbr :iagree: This list is kept by WTMViolet. There's also the abbreviation sticky at the top of each forum that's helpful. I ran across one I hadn't known this week (KISS Grammar) and it wasn't on the abbreviation list, so I PMed WTMViolet and she added it. It's a wonderful resource! (Thanks, Violet!)
